Microsoft Acquires Startup R2 Studios
Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) has announced that they have acquired the Home Entertainment Technology Company “Startup R2 Studios” to make it better services for their Xbox unit. The id8 R2 Studios was founded by Blake Krikorian in 2011 and now he has to join the Redmond Wash, a software company. With the R2 Studios, Microsoft has acquired patents owned by the said company also which relates to Controlling Electronic Devices. Microsoft did not disclose the deal price of this acquisition yet. Before, acquisition, the R2 Studios engaged with Distributing and Displaying Digital Media on Televisions with latest technology. The other players of Silicon Valley like Google and Apple had also talked with the R2 Studios for getting this deal, as reported Wall Street Journal. However, this deal comes to Microsoft part who want to expand their Xbox services as per Netflix, Comcast Corporation and Time Warner Inc, HBO and Google’s Youtube services and Microsoft will give Xbox Live services for on-demand television programming or Internet Web Videos on TV devices.
